“The Wonderful World of Bees” with Timo Wayman

This is the first in a four-part lecture series “The Little Things That Run the World: An Exploration of the insects in the Farmscape”, which describes four fascinating insect groups and their role in regional biodiversity and agriculture.

On Thursday, 10 November 2022, 7pm, entomology intern Timo Wayman welcomes you to “The Wonderful World of Bees”. Topics of their presentation will include: how to tell bees apart from other insects, the varying lifestyles of bees, and some profiles of local bees. This presentation has information for entomology newcomers and enthusiasts alike. Timo has taken many pictures of bees during their time working at Hawthorn Valley. They are incorporated throughout the presentation to acquaint you with the bees you can find in your garden.

This free presentation will be at the Hawthorne Valley Place-based Learning Center (327 Route 21C, Ghent NY), which is in the white building attached to the red barn.

Please note that for extra safety of attendees and presenters, this will be a masked event; masks will be available at the event for anyone who may not have one.
